This year’s games room will be bigger and better than ever. More tournaments, more games consoles, it’s all a bit exciting really.
Akumakon Tournaments, procedures and rules:
Games Room rules:
-The Gaming room is for everyone, not just the hardcore or casual’s. You don’t own it so don’t
act like you do.
-No hogging consoles or games. We’ll know and will kick you up the bottom.
-No excessive swearing or profanity. The craic is allowed, but keep it PC kids.
-If you’re not having fun, just leave. We don’t like your kind 
-Signups for Tournaments are open all day. Specific tournament signups end 15 minutes before
Tournament commences. No exceptions.
-If a contestant fails to show for their assigned slot, they will automatically be disqualified.
-Games Co-ordinator and Staff’s decision is final. Rules WILL be followed or pain will ensue.
General Tournament Rules:
-No pausing.
-Bring your own Pad or Sticks (Akumakon will not be responsible for anything that may happen to
it).
-All Tournaments – €2 entry fee.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
–5 minutes per game.
-No Items
-Top 2 players gets through to the next set.
Mario Kart Double Dash
-Mode: 4 player, Vs
-Special Cup (Wario Colloseum, Dino Dino Jungle, Bowser’s Castle, Rainbow Road)
-150cc, Standard Kart
Pokémon Black and White 2
Battles will be six-a-side double battles, with no level limit. Matches will be level-scaled to
level 50. The Wonder Launcher may not be used.
Species clause: No two pokemon of the same species on a team. Pokemon in the same evolutionary
tree, but at different stages are fine (e.g., Charmander and Charizard is legal, Vaporeon and
Umbreon is fine, but two Salamence is illegal.)
Item clause: No duplicate items on your team – for example, you cannot have two pokemon holding
Leftovers.
Selfdestruct Clause: If both players are knocked out in the last round of a battle due to
Explosion, Selfdestruct, Destiny Bond, or Perish Song, the player who used Explosion,
Selfdestruct, Destiny Bond, or Perish Song is considered to have lost. If both players are
knocked out in the last round of a battle due to a pokemon using a recoil move and KOing the
opponent’s pokemon, the player who used the recoil move is considered to have won.
One-hit KO moves (Sheer Cold, Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill) are banned.
Banned Pokemon + B&W2 Legendary’s.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
-1v1, first to 10 kills
-No perks, basic Attatchments
-Winner through to next set
Street Fighter Third Strike
-Winners must stay with the same character for the next round.
-First set, Single Elimination, 1 game. Second set and up, Double Elimination, Best of 3 games.
Grand Final, Best of 5 games.
-99 sec Time Limit.
-Gill banned.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Normal)
-Final Destination
-No Items
-Meta Knight Banned
-5 minutes per game.
-Top 2 players gets through to the next set.

-Stars contest, first to 5.
-Play all 9 games in order and repeat if no winner.

As well as the main tournaments we will be running little “Challenges” laid out around the games room for people to try their hand at for prizes. You think you can beat Bubble Man’s stage in Mega Man 2 without getting hit? How far can you get in I wanna be the guy? What’s your record in QWOP? Feel like playing Touhou on its hardest difficulty?
And of course, the Super Smash Bros N64 challenge from last year returns. Do you think you can beat the Games Co-ordinator at his own game?
